Manchester United star Paul Pogba has returned to training after making a recovery from the dreaded coronavirus. The midfielder tested positive for Covid-19 last month but, since making a recovery, has returned to training. He arrived back at Carrington ahead of Manchester United’s match against Aston Villa on Saturday. In an Instagram post last week, Pogba told fans how he and his wife were “Home taking vitamin D” and were “feeling much better now.” Alongside the Manchester United star’s positive test, it was revealed that his wife Maria Zulay also tested positive for the virus. During his recovery, the French national footballer was out of action and missed his country’s vital matches against Sweden and Croatia. Other recent social media posts have shown the Manchester United hero to have spent his recovery time at home with his family. Despite the setbacks, his return to training this week shows that the player is expected to be back in action in time for the new season.
Pogba also remains to sign a new contract with the club, after his current contract is due to expire next summer. While there is the caveat of an additional year in his current contract, the Italian press has reported that Pogba may be stalling to secure a place back in Turin. Having started his career at Juventus, playing alongside Andre Pirlo, Pogba is said to be keen to orchestrate a move back. With Juve under Pirlo’s management, reports appear all the more credible and it may very well be that he leaves the Manchester club at the end of this season.
Alongside Paul Pogba, Juan Mata remains in quarantine after recently arriving from Spain. Despite some negative Covid-19 tests, he continues to self-isolate at home and it remains unclear when he will return to action.
